About
Artist Statement
An ever approaching distance and anamnesis. The art of Alexander Hofstetter attempts to question both the vulnerable and traumatic nature of spiritual transformation and the philosophical transitoriness of existence. Although these transformations are genuinely personal, they also are drawn from the great wealth of the collective mythological, religious and psychological experience.
Artist Bio
A solitary man. A non-traditional learner. I consider myself self-taught in the discipline of creating art, my artistic directions have come to me from experimentation and self discovery throughout the years. Living in the greater Salt Lake Valley, I retain a deep admiration for the natural beauty and mountains of Utah, where I love to walk and reflect on art and philosophy. I currently work as an Art Director for a local marketing company where I work with a team of designers and enjoy the complex problem solving of UI/UX design as well as the organic free-flowing creative aspects of illustration and painting. When I am not creating, I am reading, trying to learn something new, attempting to write, or wandering alone in the wilderness.
